We wanted to have another Sunday lunch in Sevenoaks, so after much searching online, I found The Fox and Hounds nr Brasted, Westerham in Kent. I had a very good roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, Claire had roast pork with crackling. The roast potatoes were very nice, as was the great selection of vegetables. Also, the service was very good, always attentive without being overbearing. Overall, a highly recommended Sunday lunch.

The Sydney Arms, Chislehurst
As seems to be a habit at the moment, I looked in the fridge at the large joint of lamb and decided we should pop out for a Sunday roast. This time, Sunday lunch in Chislehurst was on the cards. I found out about The Sydney Arms on their website and as it was only 15 minutes drive away, I decided to give it a go.
The venue itself was suitable for families as well as dogs (they have a large garden outside). It seemed to be a family-run establishment, and felt very “local”. The lunch was pleasant enough though and if you have children, it may be worth a visit.

We were looking to have sunday lunch with my aunt, uncle and their children in West Malling. The Farmhouse is quite a well known pub in the area, winning a number of awards with the likes of Top Table. It was a toss up between this pub or The Swan. We decided to have our Sunday roast at The Farmhouse – it was slightly cheaper (and we had not eaten there before).
The restaurant area felt almost like a country inn, with lots of wood and dark browns. The service was good, the food was excellent and we were very pleased we chose to have our Sunday lunch here. A recommended roast and a must visit. This pub would be suitable for celebrations, father’s day, mother’s day, a romantic lunch or just meeting up with friends and family…

We were looking for somewhere to eat with John’s grandparents. After a bit of searching, he found The White Horse, Sundridge in Sevenoaks, it had some good write-ups and meant we were able to drive there in around 30-40 mins (from Chislehurst).
We were waiting for 5-10 minutes whilst the bar staff appeared. We were shown to a poorly light area (it was dark, even though outside was very sunny). I went for the roast chicken, everyone else had the roast beef. To be honest, the roast lunch wasn’t great (John was pleased with the roast beef though, lots of food).
Overall, this was an average Sunday lunch, and needs some improvement in the service.

With family living in the Chislehurst / Bromley area, I have visited The Frogpool Manor restaurant a couple of times over the years – I believe one time we hired it out for a family Christmas party! It is an unusual place to have a restaurant, with The Saddlery in close by (in fact, whilst eating Sunday lunch I saw horses eating hay whilst in their stables!).
A recommended Sunday lunch here though, with interesting surroundings and wholesome food.
