We were staying in Camber so I took the opportunity to book a lunch at The Ship Inn in Rye, East Sussex. Be aware that parking is difficult in Rye. Overall, we had a good Sunday lunch with excellent service. The roast potatoes were perfect, as were the heritage carrots, cabbage and yorkshire pudding. The desserts were also very enjoyable. A venue worth visiting if you are in the area.

We were visiting Camber Sands for a week on holiday, I booked Sunday lunch at The Gallivant. It is a hotel on the main road from Rye, and had a large car park outside for easy parking. The restaurant is a relaxing but smart venue, with excellent food – especially the roast beef and sundae dessert. It is higher priced than most places, but we felt it was worth the extra. Suitable for family celebrations, The Gallivant is Top Rated!

A friend suggested Sunday lunch at The Coal Shed in Brighton after a good experience, so we arranged an away-day to the beach! The venue was just a short walk from Brighton’s sea front, down a quiet road. The restaurant was bright and airy, the staff were very attentive and friendly. The starters were nice, especially the Jacobs Short Ladder. The Sharing Roast Beef was superb, perhaps one of the best we have ever had.
So, if you are looking for a great Sunday lunch in East Sussex, then The Coal Shed will be worth travelling to!
