I received a recommendation from a reader for the Sunday lunch at The Lord Northbrook in Lee, Lewisham (London). We were at a loose end one Sunday, so decided to give it a go. The venue itself was well decorated, grey and black walls / flooring. The tables were nicely laid out, and loads of room for pushchairs. The Sunday lunch itself was good, although lacked flavourings. The fondant wasn’t gooey, so I ordered the sticky toffee pudding instead – which was excellent. A great pub for families, we will definitely be back to The Lord Northbrook for another Sunday roast.

The Braserrie @ National Maritime Museum, Greenwich
What an unusual place for a Sunday lunch – at The Brasserie in the National Maritime museum! With excellent views across Greenwich Park, this was definitely a place for special occasions – 2 courses costing £20 meant it would be accessible to most pockets. The food quality was excellent, my roast beef was delicious. Overall, a Top Rated Sunday lunch and well worth travelling to experience!

This certainly was a wildcard – a rundown hotel, probably damaged by fire. It seemed like they were going through renovations, but taking their time with it! The food was good, lots of curly kale and nice roast beef – but some of our party found it unpleasant eating in room with extensive fire damage!

Looking for a Sunday lunch in London, I found The Laughing Gravy, based in Southwark (near Waterloo). Reserving a table was easy, I booked for the next day at midday. We arrived late, our friends were relaxing in the bar area at the front of the restaurant. They served a fantastic Roast Beef, the very best I have ever had in my life! Moist, flavoursome and chunky! The roast potatoes were excellent too – a top rated Sunday lunch at The Laughing Gravy in Southwark, London.

We were looking for a Sunday lunch in Brentford and seeing as we had eaten at Island Restaurant previously, we thought it would be a good place to try.
It was a strange mix between a carvery and a canteen where you actually help yourself throughout the meal. It wasn’t very nice and we wouldn’t be able to recommend it to friends and family. A disappointing Sunday lunch at the Holiday Inn in Brentford.
