After reviewing Abode Hotel previously, we had high hopes for Sunday lunch at Deesons in Canterbury. The bread was enjoyable, as was most of the main course. Due to some mix-ups with dietary requirements, they scored lower than they should have… visit for a great lunch, as long as you do not have any food related allergies.

Having visited a sister venue in Tunbridge Wells, we were looking forward to a relaxing Sunday lunch at Hotel du Vin in Brighton, East Sussex. It didn’t quite turn out that way due to the very wet weather, but we really enjoyed the lunch – completely stuffed after the great value 4 courses. Looking for a Sunday lunch in Surrey, I found Sands at Bleak House in Woking. The venue was bright and airy, with large windows and also a conservatory area. The service here was very good, making sure we had everything we needed. Both the Roast Pork and the Roast Beef were ordered and we were all pleased with our choices. The roast potatoes were especially large and had an interesting flavour. Lastly, the desserts were nicely presented and were enjoyable. Families are welcome. Overall, an excellent and Top Rated Sunday lunch by Sands at Bleak House in Woking, Surrey.

I received a recommendation from a reader for the Sunday lunch at The Lord Northbrook in Lee, Lewisham (London). We were at a loose end one Sunday, so decided to give it a go. The venue itself was well decorated, grey and black walls / flooring. The tables were nicely laid out, and loads of room for pushchairs. The Sunday lunch itself was good, although lacked flavourings. The fondant wasn’t gooey, so I ordered the sticky toffee pudding instead – which was excellent. A great pub for families, we will definitely be back to The Lord Northbrook for another Sunday roast.
