The Gun at Gun Hill is one of the Elite Pubs venues – we have visited most of the others, so I was looking forward to giving them a go, and we weren’t disappointed. The food was excellent, especially the crackling. They were very welcoming with our toddler and had some good menu options. We made full use of the garden too. A Top Rated venue, great for families as well as couples and celebrations

The Vineyard, Lamberhurst
We had visited The Farmhouse in West Malling and received a great experience, so I had to take the opportunity to review their sister pub in Lamberhurst, The Vineyard. The location was superb, set in wonderful Kentish countryside. The garden was spacious, as was the venue inside. Our Sunday lunch was really nice, with a lot of meat, good flavouring with the roast potatoes and nice vegetables. Our desserts were enjoyable, the Coconut Crème Brulée was very well presented. Service here was excellent, and ensured we had a great experience. An excellent Sunday roast at The Vineyard in Lamberhurst, Kent.

The food was delicious, the service excellent and a great venue too. Definitely one worth travelling to visit – suitable for families and couples alike!

After looking for a Sunday lunch near Maidstone, I settled on The Dirty Habit in Hollingborne, a sister pub of The Vineyard and The Farmhouse. The 11 Century pub certainly had character, and I was pleased with the service initially, The roast potatoes were good, as were the vegetables. My Sticky Toffee Pudding was very sweet (a good thing), and certainly ensured I received the sugar hit I wanted. Unfortunately though, it took over 20 minutes just to receive the bill, so not one to go to if you are in a rush.
