The imperial Arms in Chislehurst is near the top of the very steep Old Hill. A newly opened pub, I wasn’t sure what to expect. All in all, they served a good Sunday lunch. We all enjoyed the Roast Beef, which was good quality and of sizeable quantity. i was a bit disappointed with the rest though. The vegetables and potatoes tasted good quality again, but there just wasn’t enough! The service was very friendly and I was pleased to be able to have a pint of lager with my pub Sunday lunch. Recommended.

Best Sunday Roast lunch review of pubs and restaurants in Bromley, Kent
Bickley Manor Hotel, Bickley
Having had our wedding here a couple of years ago, Claire and I were keen to give the Sunday lunch at Bickley Manor Hotel a go. And we were not disappointed, with excellent Silver Service at our table. The Sunday roast was excellent, with a good selection of vegetables, properly cooked meat and nice roast potatoes. A Top Rated Sunday lunch for celebrations, special occasions such as Christmas and birthdays or just when you want a great roast.

As seems to be a habit at the moment, I looked in the fridge at the large joint of lamb and decided we should pop out for a Sunday roast. This time, Sunday lunch in Chislehurst was on the cards. I found out about The Sydney Arms on their website and as it was only 15 minutes drive away, I decided to give it a go.
The venue itself was suitable for families as well as dogs (they have a large garden outside). It seemed to be a family-run establishment, and felt very “local”. The lunch was pleasant enough though and if you have children, it may be worth a visit.

With family living in the Chislehurst / Bromley area, I have visited The Frogpool Manor restaurant a couple of times over the years – I believe one time we hired it out for a family Christmas party! It is an unusual place to have a restaurant, with The Saddlery in close by (in fact, whilst eating Sunday lunch I saw horses eating hay whilst in their stables!).
A recommended Sunday lunch here though, with interesting surroundings and wholesome food.

We normally visit higher end venues for Sunday lunch, but with a “New Year’s Day Hangover”, I thought we should give a Toby Carvery a try.
We have actually visited this one once before with my Aunt and Uncle but didn’t review – so I was interested to see how it scored. The service here is average, but the star of the show is the carvery. They have 3-4 types of meat including roast turket, roast beef, roast lamb and gammon. Have as much vegetables as you wished, including a second or third helping. Very nice gravy as well.
Overall, the lunch was quite good – not once for a special occasion but if you were looking for something hearty then Toby Carvery in Bromley will do the job.
