I didn’t know what to expect with the Sunday lunch at The Barn restaurant in Gillingham. The service was very friendly and helpful throughout the meal. The food quality and presentation was worthy of “up town”, the pea and ham soup was delicious and the roast was superb! A Top Rated Sunday lunch, and great for a romantic meal or celebrations.

As we were going to Old Street for a friend’s party, I decided to book Sunday lunch at Tramshed in Shoreditch for the three of us (Claire, me and our 20 month old son, JW). Parking was extremely difficult, almost as bad as Brighton, but I managed to find a free(!) space a few minutes walk away. Outside, the venue is very unimposing – a simple arch with an entrance either side. Inside was a vast warehouse, with a Damian Hirst installation! The food, with an interesting presentation of the Roast Chicken and free kid’s minute steak, was excellent. The service was good, and the bill was very reasonable indeed.
Certainly a Top Rated Award for Tramshed in Shoreditch, East London.

I found Brandshatch Place Hotel on the Gourmet Society Card website – we were able to to get 25% off the total food bill! The venue was a 16th century Georgian building set in beautiful grounds. The service we received whilst we were there was the best we have ever received, including being able to move to a different room with JW! The starters were good, the roast beef was excellent and the dessert amazing!
A top rated Sunday lunch at Brandshatch Place Hotel!

After a good experience previously in Farringdon, I booked Malmaison in Reading for a Sunday lunch. The market table wasn’t as good as previous, and the 3 course meal took a long time to complete (over 3 hours) due to service being slow. The food was nice and it was kind of them to provide olive oil cooked roast potatoes which might explain the delays. Overall, a worth 4/5 score for Malmaison.

I was looking for a Sunday lunch in Theale, near Reading, and found The Winning Hand. As it was a country pub, the outside had character. The standard of food presentation was high, each course looked inviting. The speed of service near the end of the meal did tarnish the experience a bit, but only because we were in a hurry to get back.
Overall, a recommended Sunday lunch at The Winning Hand and we would visit again.
