We had visit another of Richard Phillips’s establishments, Pearson’s Arms in Whitstable. So, when I found out he has another in Hollingborne in Maidstone, we had to give it a shot. Sunday lunch here was superb, our roast very tasty (especially the potatoes). It was great that the kids roast was free, making the Sunday lunch really good value (3 courses for £19.95).
The Windmill is definitely one for families to visit for Sunday lunch. Top Rated!
Read More...Having visited all the venues within the Elite Pub Group, when I heard there was a new one open (called The Potting Shed), I knew it wouldn’t take long before we visited :-) I booked a table for the 3 of us on New Years Day. The venue was excellent, very airy with lots of large windows to let in the light, even on the dull, rainy day. The service was superb, I almost felt we were imposing on the staff – the waiter even cut up JW’s beef without being asked (we would have done it). Nothing seemed too much trouble. The food quality was excellent, I loved the mixed roast, and the creme brulee was good (although, couldn’t see any vanilla seeds). A Top Rated Sunday lunch!
Read More...I was looking for a Sunday lunch in Greenwich, London and found Tudor Barn. It’s located in Eltham, which is just a short drive away from home. The venue is situated within a lovely green area, and as the name suggests, is a Tudor Barn!
Inside the restaurant is impressive. Nicely laid out tables, a large wood burning stove at the end. The service was excellent, as was the food. Claire had a nice roast lamb, I had a fantastic “duo”, which consisted of lamb and beef. The Yorkshire pudding was amazing, and the roast potatoes were very good. All in all, a top rated Sunday lunch at Tudor Barn, Eltham in Greenwich.
Read More...After eating a couple of other meals there, I felt it was time to give the Sunday roasts a go at Aqua Bar & Grill in Bromley. The food here is good and the service is friendly and profressional. I really appreciated the complimentry olives and bread (which I ended up having as my starter, whilst Claire enjoyed the duck salad). The roast beef was excellently cooked, as was the lamb. Roast potatoes were ok, not as crispy as I like, but the gravy was excellent.
Oh, and the Gourmet Society Card is accepted on the a la carte menu. Highly recommended!
Read More...We decided to try a local Sunday lunch and settled on The Tudor Kitchen in Sidcup (part of Bexley, Kent). Easy to book, just gave them a call and we were all set. We parked up in the local Morrisons and wandered down. The manger opened the door for us, and showed us to our seat. Claire ordered the beef bourguignon, I went for the roast beef. Presentation was good, as was the quality of the food. The chocolate brownie sundae was also enjoyable. Overall, a great place to go for Sunday lunch in Sidcup, Bexley – and The Gourmet Society Card is accepted.
