We have been meaning to review Sunday lunch at The Swan in West Malling for a while now and we finally had a chance just before Christmas. Parking was difficult, they do not have their own car park, but we managed it. The food was excellent, the service superb and we really enjoyed our time. A Top Rated Award for The Swan in West Malling.

We were looking for a Sunday lunch within the M25 and, after some research, found Botley Hill Farmhouse in Warlingham, Surrey. It was set in beautiful rolling hills, quite amazing. The feel inside was contemporary farmhouse, being bright and fresh. The Sunday lunch was quite good, I enjoyed the beef and roast potatoes. There was a problem with JW’s dessert which spoilt the experience. Even with this though, it would still be worth visiting if you are in the area.

We were visiting Hythe in Kent, so obviously I searched for a venue to review for Sunday lunch. An old pub situated on the High Street, The White Hart was a bit too dark for a bright Sunny day. The service was poor initially, but did improve through the meal. The Sunday roast was quite good, with a nice selection of vegetables (including cauliflower cheese!). Overall, Sunday lunch at The White Hart in Hythe scores 3/5.

We had visited The Shortlands Taverns to watch some rugby previously, when I saw they offered Sunday lunches I made sure we visited the following Sunday. Make sure you reserve a table, there were a lot of disappointed people would hadn’t. A very good place for families, with a menu for children, low salt Sunday lunches and clean baby changing facilities. Also, they are members of Brestfeeding Welcome Scheme, so mothers with young babies should also feel welcome here. Overall, the Sunday lunch was nice and worth a visit, if just to experience the local community pub.
Read More...Chapters, Blackheath
Having reviewed their sister venue, it would have been rude not to visit Chapters in Blackheath, Greenwich, and I am very glad we did! Whilst not as formal as Chapter One, it was still a very smart and professional venue, providing an excellent Sunday lunch – the roast beef was delicious, as were the potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Definitely worth travelling to visit – a Top Rated award!
