We had visit another of Richard Phillips’s establishments, Pearson’s Arms in Whitstable. So, when I found out he has another in Hollingborne in Maidstone, we had to give it a shot. Sunday lunch here was superb, our roast very tasty (especially the potatoes). It was great that the kids roast was free, making the Sunday lunch really good value (3 courses for £19.95).
The Windmill is definitely one for families to visit for Sunday lunch. Top Rated!
Read More...Having visited all the venues within the Elite Pub Group, when I heard there was a new one open (called The Potting Shed), I knew it wouldn’t take long before we visited :-) I booked a table for the 3 of us on New Years Day. The venue was excellent, very airy with lots of large windows to let in the light, even on the dull, rainy day. The service was superb, I almost felt we were imposing on the staff – the waiter even cut up JW’s beef without being asked (we would have done it). Nothing seemed too much trouble. The food quality was excellent, I loved the mixed roast, and the creme brulee was good (although, couldn’t see any vanilla seeds). A Top Rated Sunday lunch!
Read More...Don’t let the outside of The Rose and Crown in Farnborough put you off, the venue inside was kept in good repair and nicely decorated. The facilities for children was excellent with clean changing areas and a large activity area in the garden. The huge Sunday lunch was good, especially the roast potatoes. A place to visit for families and people with large appetites!
Read More...I was looking for a Sunday lunch in Greenwich, London and found Tudor Barn. It’s located in Eltham, which is just a short drive away from home. The venue is situated within a lovely green area, and as the name suggests, is a Tudor Barn!
Inside the restaurant is impressive. Nicely laid out tables, a large wood burning stove at the end. The service was excellent, as was the food. Claire had a nice roast lamb, I had a fantastic “duo”, which consisted of lamb and beef. The Yorkshire pudding was amazing, and the roast potatoes were very good. All in all, a top rated Sunday lunch at Tudor Barn, Eltham in Greenwich.
Read More...We were recommended to go to The Old Jail in Biggin Hill, Westerham for a Sunday lunch review by the same person who recommended Bo Peep. It was an old country inn, and was a very cosy place to have Sunday lunch.
My roast beef was good, seasoned well. Claire chose roast chicken, which was equally nice. The star of the show was the roast potatoes though, crunchy and browned on the outside with a great texture inside. The service here was quite good, we were looked after. The Sunday lunch was very reasonably priced, being £8.95 each.
Overall a great Sunday roast in Biggin Hill, Westerham.
