The British Queen opened recently in Lockbottom, near Chapter One. I have been looking forward to visiting and had a chance one Sunday – so booked for Claire, me and JW, our toddler. The venue had a great atmosphere, lots of hubbub and activity. On the whole, the food quality was very good, and I especially enjoyed the cauliflower cheese (as always), along with the chocolate delice dessert. Definitely one to come along with family, we scored them a fantastic 4.5 / 5.

I was looking for a Sunday lunch in Dulwich, and decided that The Rosendale, with it’s emphasis of being a family friendly venue. This made it perfect for us with our son, JW (aka William), so a table was booked for 12pm the following day. Arriving early, our table was at the back of the restaurant, next to the garden door. The food here was delicious, our roasts were excellently cooked, especially the roast potatoes. The desserts were also excellent. So, definitely a top rated venue in West Dulwich!

The Hinds Head in Bray, being a Michelin starred pub, has been on my radar for a while. We had the opportunity to visit just after Christmas, and I am very pleased we did! The service was excellent, as was the food – fois gras was delicious and beautifully presented, the roast beef was wonderful with excellent roast potatoes. We felt it was a venue to take older children to rather than a toddler – this was mostly down to having no background noise to cover up the usual sounds youngsters make. Overall though, a great place and The Hinds Head in Bray scores 4.5 out of 5!

We were looking for a Sunday lunch in Sevenoaks with my Dad and Lesley. A couple of choices were available, but I settled on a Sunday roast at House on the Hill – the swaying factor was having a fish and vegetarian course available. We were pleased with the quality of food and also the service – very welcoming and accommodating. Overall, an excellent Sunday lunch at the House on the Hill.

I found The Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, London online, and decided to book for Sunday lunch the following day. Parking was very difficult, and expensive (£12 for 4 hours), but I have to say, it was well worth it. The venue was situated right on the River Thames, and had an excellent view. The bread we ordered to nibble on whilst waiting was superb, as was the main courses of roast pork belly and roast beef. My lime cheesecake was also something notable.
A superb, Top Rated Sunday lunch at The Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, best suited for a special or celebratory occasion.
