We reguarly travel to Suffolk, as my grandparents have a caravan there. Each time we go, I remember that we have to review a Sunday lunch somewhere but we always forget. This time, it was different – I arranged a Sunday lunch at The White Lion in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. The service here was excellent, as was the decor, location and even the food.

Read More...We reviewed Sunday lunch at Chiswell Street Dining Rooms, a sister venue of The Jugged Hare, a couple of months ago with great success. Claire and I were invited along to the launch party of The Jugged Hare, so we knew the layout of the venue and what to expect decor-wise. We also had the chance to sample the food via canapes. Something we didn’t get to try, and I really wanted to, was their Sunday lunches.
So, a couple of weeks after the launch party, I arranged Sunday lunch at The Jugged Hare for my birthday meal. This did mean driving to Islington for a Sunday roast, but it was definitely worth it!
Read More...We were looking to have sunday lunch with my aunt, uncle and their children in West Malling. The Farmhouse is quite a well known pub in the area, winning a number of awards with the likes of Top Table. It was a toss up between this pub or The Swan. We decided to have our Sunday roast at The Farmhouse – it was slightly cheaper (and we had not eaten there before).
The restaurant area felt almost like a country inn, with lots of wood and dark browns. The service was good, the food was excellent and we were very pleased we chose to have our Sunday lunch here. A recommended roast and a must visit. This pub would be suitable for celebrations, father’s day, mother’s day, a romantic lunch or just meeting up with friends and family…
Read More...Charlotte’s Place in Ealing has a good reputation, so we were looking forward to having a Sunday roast here. It felt very homely, having to ring a door bell to be let in and also having our coats up on a hanger.
The Sunday lunch was excellent, with wonderful Sirloin of Beef (cooked to our liking). The service was very good and we would wholeheartedly recommend the Sunday lunch here.
Read More...I found The Chequers Brasserie in Cookham Dean, Marlow online. Great first impressions as the restaurant had a nice outside. We were able to get a seat in the conservatory which had a lot of plates and ornaments dotted around. The lunch was served swiftly and was very well presented – it tasted extremely fresh and well cooked. A nice selection of teas and coffees were available. To top it off, when the bill was served, we were each given a small piece of rock too!
