We haven’t had a Sunday lunc in Central London for a while, so decided to book somewhere close to Charing Cross station, Sophie’s Steakhouse. We arrived at midday as we were unable to book a table. Roast beef was ordered by 3 of us, and we were all very happy with our choice. The food quality was excellent here, as was the service. The pricing was high for drinks, but the kids eat free proved that Sophies Steakhouse in Covent Garden is family friendly and highly recommended.

We originally booked elsewhere for a lunch in London, but when this was cancelled, we were able to get a reservation at Hixter, Bankside, and I was so glad we did! The venue itself was smart but fun – the staff were professional whilst at the same time being very welcoming. Our toddler, JW, was well looked after – and I appreciated the his free lunch! The roast beef was superb, one of the best I have had. They also served cauliflower cheese so, all in all, a definite winner! Top Rated Sunday lunch at Hixter, Bankside.

We had eaten at The Oak a couple of time previously, but we didn’t manage to review the Sunday lunch. For Easter Sunday, 8 of us decided to visit for a roast. Our booking was just after they had received a table of 20, so the food was understandably slower than usual. The Sunday lunch was quite nice, unfortunately the desserts were a bit of a let down. Overall, a family friendly pub to go if you are local to the area.

After visiting The Jugged Hare and Chiswell Street Dining Rooms) I had the opportunity of booking The Gun, a sister pub. They were very welcoming to us with John William (a 10 month old baby). The venue itself was impressive – a smart restaurant area at the front with a relaxing bar area out the back (including a wonderful terrace area). The food here was very special – well presented and excellent tasting. The service was also superb, so all in all, a well deserved Top Rated Award for Sunday lunch at The Gun.

Having been recommended Lujon in Keston previously, I recently found out they had been refurbished and renamed “Herberts”. The service here was excellent, from being met at the front door to having a dessert especially made for our toddler, off menu (a wonderful Fig and mango fruit salad!). The main courses were large, with a lot of sides (including cauliflower cheese). Also, it was quite reasonably priced, being 2 courses for £19.95, or 3 for £22.95. All in all, one of the Best Sunday Roasts we’ve had in Bromley and well worth visiting!
