I received a recommendation from a reader for the Sunday lunch at The Lord Northbrook in Lee, Lewisham (London). We were at a loose end one Sunday, so decided to give it a go. The venue itself was well decorated, grey and black walls / flooring. The tables were nicely laid out, and loads of room for pushchairs. The Sunday lunch itself was good, although lacked flavourings. The fondant wasn't gooey, so I ordered the sticky toffee pudding instead - which was excellent. A great pub for families, we will definitely be back to The Lord Northbrook for another Sunday roast.

What an unusual place for a Sunday lunch - at The Brasserie in the National Maritime museum! With excellent views across Greenwich Park, this was definitely a place for special occasions - 2 courses costing £20 meant it would be accessible to most pockets. The food quality was excellent, my roast beef was delicious. Overall, a Top Rated Sunday lunch and well worth travelling to experience!

This certainly was a wildcard - a rundown hotel, probably damaged by fire. It seemed like they were going through renovations, but taking their time with it! The food was good, lots of curly kale and nice roast beef - but some of our party found it unpleasant eating in room with extensive fire damage!

The Crooked Well had been on my radar for a while now, so was really looking forward to trying out their roast dinner when we had a spare Sunday. I was not disappointed - the sharing roast lamb was delicious, as were the roast potatoes. The staff were friendly and welcoming. A venue for a casual lunch or celebration with the family - Top Rated!

I was looking for a Sunday lunch in Dulwich, and decided that The Rosendale, with it's emphasis of being a family friendly venue. This made it perfect for us with our son, JW (aka William), so a table was booked for 12pm the following day. Arriving early, our table was at the back of the restaurant, next to the garden door. The food here was delicious, our roasts were excellently cooked, especially the roast potatoes. The desserts were also excellent. So, definitely a top rated venue in West Dulwich!

With The Bickley opening up after a renovation, we were keen to try out their new Sunday lunch. It was difficult to get a table, but managed to book one for midday. The venue itself is much improved, being brightly decorated. Inside has also been improved, opening up the restaurant area to 3 levels. I really liked the styling. The food was ok, slightly cheaper than previously and JW's kids Sunday lunch was quite good. Service was incredibly slow, but this should be something that'll improve over time (I hope!). Overall, a decent lunch and one for families in the area.

I booked the Bridge House in Penge, Lewisham on one Sunday - I had actually been there once before and enjoyed the food. I explained the dietary requirements for JW (gluten, wheat and dairy free) and was told all would be ok with the roast, apart from the Yorkshire. In fact, this was incorrect - JW ended up having roast beef and chips, for the same money as a kids roast! Overall, the food was ok, but this mishap really spoilt our experience. Go if you live in the area and do not have any dietary requirements.

I found The Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, London online, and decided to book for Sunday lunch the following day. Parking was very difficult, and expensive (£12 for 4 hours), but I have to say, it was well worth it. The venue was situated right on the River Thames, and had an excellent view. The bread we ordered to nibble on whilst waiting was superb, as was the main courses of roast pork belly and roast beef. My lime cheesecake was also something notable.

A superb, Top Rated Sunday lunch at The Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, best suited for a special or celebratory occasion.

Having reviewed their sister venue, it would have been rude not to visit Chapters in Blackheath, Greenwich, and I am very glad we did! Whilst not as formal as Chapter One, it was still a very smart and professional venue, providing an excellent Sunday lunch - the roast beef was delicious, as were the potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Definitely worth travelling to visit - a Top Rated award!

I was looking for a Sunday lunch in Greenwich, London and found Tudor Barn. It's located in Eltham, which is just a short drive away from home. The venue is situated within a lovely green area, and as the name suggests, is a Tudor Barn!

Inside the restaurant is impressive. Nicely laid out tables, a large wood burning stove at the end. The service was excellent, as was the food. Claire had a nice roast lamb, I had a fantastic "duo", which consisted of lamb and beef. The Yorkshire pudding was amazing, and the roast potatoes were very good. All in all, a top rated Sunday lunch at Tudor Barn, Eltham in Greenwich.
