I received a recommendation from a reader for the Sunday lunch at The Lord Northbrook in Lee, Lewisham (London). We were at a loose end one Sunday, so decided to give it a go. The venue itself was well decorated, grey and black walls / flooring. The tables were nicely laid out, and loads of room for pushchairs. The Sunday lunch itself was good, although lacked flavourings. The fondant wasn't gooey, so I ordered the sticky toffee pudding instead - which was excellent. A great pub for families, we will definitely be back to The Lord Northbrook for another Sunday roast.

What an unusual place for a Sunday lunch - at The Brasserie in the National Maritime museum! With excellent views across Greenwich Park, this was definitely a place for special occasions - 2 courses costing £20 meant it would be accessible to most pockets. The food quality was excellent, my roast beef was delicious. Overall, a Top Rated Sunday lunch and well worth travelling to experience!

This certainly was a wildcard - a rundown hotel, probably damaged by fire. It seemed like they were going through renovations, but taking their time with it! The food was good, lots of curly kale and nice roast beef - but some of our party found it unpleasant eating in room with extensive fire damage!

Looking for a Sunday lunch in London, I found The Laughing Gravy, based in Southwark (near Waterloo). Reserving a table was easy, I booked for the next day at midday. We arrived late, our friends were relaxing in the bar area at the front of the restaurant. They served a fantastic Roast Beef, the very best I have ever had in my life! Moist, flavoursome and chunky! The roast potatoes were excellent too - a top rated Sunday lunch at The Laughing Gravy in Southwark, London.

The Crooked Well had been on my radar for a while now, so was really looking forward to trying out their roast dinner when we had a spare Sunday. I was not disappointed - the sharing roast lamb was delicious, as were the roast potatoes. The staff were friendly and welcoming. A venue for a casual lunch or celebration with the family - Top Rated!

I was extremely excited to have the chance to eat at Bread Street Kitchen in One New Change, nr St Pauls, London. We visited for Father's Day, so booked for 3 adults and a baby (JW - who was 16 month-ish at the time). The Sunday lunch was good, especially the crunchy roast potatoes and flavoursome roast chicken. The children's meat balls were far too expensive, and I felt we were being charged quite a bit for the drinks. Overall, a respectable 3.5/5 for Sunday lunch at Bread Street Kitchen.

I have visited a number of times for beers over the years, so I was looking forward to reviewing the Sunday lunch at The Phoenix in Denmark Hill, London. The venue is part of Denmark Hill rail station, and they carry a train theme through the pub (with a large clock hanging from the ceiling). They have a great selection of craft beers available, as well as decent priced wine. The Sunday lunch was reasonably priced between £11.75 for Roast Chicken to £13.00 for Roast Beef. The roast was ok, I wasn't keen on the vegetables, but the desserts were superb. they scored a respectable 3.5 out of 5.

The venue decor was nice and fresh and the service excellent!

As we had such a good time at The Crooked Well, I couldn't wait to visit their sister venue - The Perryvale. It was a smart bistro in Forest Hill - the venue was light and airy, with lots of mirrors dotted around. The food was good, although a bit too rich for my liking. I did enjoy the roast beef, and also the treacle tart. A Sunday lunch best with friends or couples
