We were visiting Camber Sands for a week on holiday, I booked Sunday lunch at The Gallivant. It is a hotel on the main road from Rye, and had a large car park outside for easy parking. The restaurant is a relaxing but smart venue, with excellent food – especially the roast beef and sundae dessert. It is higher priced than most places, but we felt it was worth the extra. Suitable for family celebrations, The Gallivant is Top Rated!

I was looking for an area we hadn’t visited before to review, and decided on Epping, Essex. The Theydon Oak came up in my search – it was an ok lunch, the Sunday roast lacked flavour, but the desserts were great. What really made the lunch was the outside kids play area, it was certainly very special. Overall, 3 out of 5, suitable for family lunches.

I received a recommendation from a reader for the Sunday lunch at The Lord Northbrook in Lee, Lewisham (London). We were at a loose end one Sunday, so decided to give it a go. The venue itself was well decorated, grey and black walls / flooring. The tables were nicely laid out, and loads of room for pushchairs. The Sunday lunch itself was good, although lacked flavourings. The fondant wasn’t gooey, so I ordered the sticky toffee pudding instead – which was excellent. A great pub for families, we will definitely be back to The Lord Northbrook for another Sunday roast.

What an unusual place for a Sunday lunch – at The Brasserie in the National Maritime museum! With excellent views across Greenwich Park, this was definitely a place for special occasions – 2 courses costing £20 meant it would be accessible to most pockets. The food quality was excellent, my roast beef was delicious. Overall, a Top Rated Sunday lunch and well worth travelling to experience!

We were looking for a Sunday lunch near the beach and Whitstable came to mind. After a bit of a search, I found The Pearson Arms by Richard Phillips. The food here was excellent, we thoroughly enjoyed all courses (including the free bread). My roast beef was really good, as were the roast potatoes. Claire enjoyed the lemon posset dessert, it was very sharp and sweet at the same time. A top rated Sunday lunch!
