We were visiting Camber Sands for a week on holiday, I booked Sunday lunch at The Gallivant. It is a hotel on the main road from Rye, and had a large car park outside for easy parking. The restaurant is a relaxing but smart venue, with excellent food - especially the roast beef and sundae dessert. It is higher priced than most places, but we felt it was worth the extra. Suitable for family celebrations, The Gallivant is Top Rated!

Sunday lunch in Whitstable is starting to become a habit. This time, we visited The East Coast Dining Room, in Tankerton. A delicious meal served in a smart restaurant. The service was excellent as well. This isn't really one for families with young children, but is definitely a Top Rated Sunday lunch!

We were looking for a Sunday lunch near the beach and Whitstable came to mind. After a bit of a search, I found The Pearson Arms by Richard Phillips. The food here was excellent, we thoroughly enjoyed all courses (including the free bread). My roast beef was really good, as were the roast potatoes. Claire enjoyed the lemon posset dessert, it was very sharp and sweet at the same time. A top rated Sunday lunch!

With another visit to Whitstable, we booked The Oxford. I reserved a table for 3 the following Sunday and we were all set. The food was a mixed bag - my beef was delicious with a lot of seasoning but unfortunately the fat on the pork belly wasn't melted. The sticky toffee pudding was nice, and JW enjoyed (his rather expensive) child's roast. Overall, worth visiting if you are in the area although as no changing area it isn't really suitable for toddlers or babies.

We were visiting Hythe in Kent, so obviously I searched for a venue to review for Sunday lunch. An old pub situated on the High Street, The White Hart was a bit too dark for a bright Sunny day. The service was poor initially, but did improve through the meal. The Sunday roast was quite good, with a nice selection of vegetables (including cauliflower cheese!). Overall, Sunday lunch at The White Hart in Hythe scores 3/5.

As we were holidaying in Camber Sands, I just had to find somewhere to visit for Sunday lunch. After a bit of research, I decided on The Dunes Bar & Restaurant, which is situated just off the main beach. Nicely decorated inside, with a beach theme (including photo place mats). The staff were friendly enough, showing us to our table and also being helpful through the meal. Ours starters were a bit of a disappointment, but the Sunday lunch was actually quite nice - a huge serving and definitely great value for money. So, worth visiting if you are in the Camber Sands area.

A friend suggested Sunday lunch at The Coal Shed in Brighton after a good experience, so we arranged an away-day to the beach! The venue was just a short walk from Brighton's sea front, down a quiet road. The restaurant was bright and airy, the staff were very attentive and friendly. The starters were nice, especially the Jacobs Short Ladder. The Sharing Roast Beef was superb, perhaps one of the best we have ever had.

So, if you are looking for a great Sunday lunch in East Sussex, then The Coal Shed will be worth travelling to!

We reguarly travel to Suffolk, as my grandparents have a caravan there. Each time we go, I remember that we have to review a Sunday lunch somewhere but we always forget. This time, it was different - I arranged a Sunday lunch at The White Lion in Aldeburgh, Suffolk. The service here was excellent, as was the decor, location and even the food.

We have no hesitation in awarding Top Marks to The White Lion in Aldeburgh for their Sunday roasts. Read the review to find out more...
